The first and foremost of Dundee’s famous “Three Js” is jute – and with good reason. Dundee was once the world’s biggest manufacturer of jute, and almost half the local population were employed in the trade. Verdant Works is the immersive, authentic home of our industrial heritage and social history, set in a preserved former mill.
Get there by bus: take services 6 | 22 to Hawkhill or Electric Emerald service 28 to Lochee Road. Go solo with a DaySaver or travel together with a GroupSaver. Remember: under-22s travel free with a valid NEC card. Or hop on Discover Dundee sightseeing bus, hop off at stop 5 for Verdant Works which is a short walk away from the stop.
