6th July - 25th September
An art exhibition exploring themes of care, labour, memory, domesticity and visibility.
Monday 6 July 2026 - Friday 25 September 2026
Location: Tower Foyer Gallery Tower Building
This exhibition explores connections between historical and contemporary works across different generations. Themes of care, labour, memory, domesticity and visibility are explored, showing how these connections still resonate today. Many of the artists represented in the collections were once students or members of staff at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Arts & Design, and their work and experiences form an important part of Dundee's creative history. Through these shared themes, the exhibition shows how artists leave identifiable traces of themselves in their wok and how artworks can art as records of lived experience, connecting generations through shared concerns and perspectives.
Curated by DJCAD MFA Curatorial Practice student Shannon Farley, the exhibition brings together material from the University's Museum Collections with additional works on loan.
Many of the artworks on show are part of the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design Collection cared for by the University of Dundee Musseums, which is now recognised by the Scottish Government as a collection of National Significance.
