Dundee’s nickname as the ‘City of Discovery’ is a legacy of this pioneering vessel, built and launched from our very own shipyards in 1901. At the time, it was the strongest wooden ship ever constructed – fit for an audacious expedition to chart a little-known continent named Antarctica. Visit the museum to learn more about the ship, its crew and their voyages. And don’t miss out on their stunning transformation with the Dundee Dome Experience (coming soon in 2022).
Get there by bus: take you local bus into town and go solo with a DaySaver or travel together with a GroupSaver. Remember: under-22s travel free with a valid NEC card.
