Originally built on the “strong point of the Tay” to defend against a gathering naval invasion in 1496, Broughty Castle was last used in military service during the Second World War. Today, it is a free-to-visit museum showcasing the life and times of Broughty Ferry. It’s an Instagrammable beauty, overlooking both the beach and harbour.
Get there by bus: take services 5/5a | 10 to Broughty Ferry and go solo with a DaySaver or travel together with a GroupSaver. Remember: under-22s travel free with a valid NEC card.
